I’m pleased to say that I have been keeping up with my everlong resolution to write every day – four days into 2014 and so far so good. The real challenge will be to keep this up when I return to work next week. It’s lucky I like a challenge. This takes me onto my change of plan. I had previously said I was planning on churning out ten stories and then editing them all at the end to allow me to release them as an e-book compilation. I’ve changed my mind. I read a Kindle book by Gabriel Lucatero called Black Book To Motivation in which he talks about focusing on one thing at a time and how it is counter-productive to multi-task:
There was a time in my life that I had twelve developed story ideas on my desk and had the tendency to write one sentence here and there, causing me NOT to be able to finish a story or a novel for over a year.
I think I would have been in danger of heading in that direction too so thank you Gabriel, you have given me a piece of advice that is simple but effective.
I shall focus on one story at a time and then feel proud of my accomplishments as I complete each one. Watch this space!
